After a drunken decision to take the stage at Chicago’s Laugh Factory, the hip-hop superstar is looking to continue his stand-up grind

Everyone has obviously heard of Chance The Rapper. But “Chance The Comedian”? That might come as a bit of a surprise to fans of the hip-hop superstar, but not only is it entirely possible, according to the man himself, it’s already in the process of happening.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (September 17), the Chicago rapper took advantage of his time in the hot seat to talk about the inspiration for his latest album, The Big Day, as well as family life and his “maternity leave” from the road following the birth of his second daughter. He also shared his aspirations for putting his impression on another artform: Stand-up comedy.

Toward the end of the interview, Kimmel brought up the topic of Chance’s recent stop at The Laugh Factory in Chicago, prompting the rapper to dive a little deeper into his appreciation for the comedy scene in the Windy City. He ultimately shared the news that he’s building up an entire arsenal of stand-up material during 20-minute sets at The Laugh Factory.
