Blurred Lifelines: New York’s Tanlines make shocking realization about Alan and Robin Thicke

Robin Thicke has been in the news lately, and for all the wrong reasons. But something was pointed out today that took our attention far away from the “Blurred Lines” decision, which has forced the singer and Pharrell to pay $7.3 million to the family estate of Marvin Gaye, and back onto the Thicke family.

As New York electronic pop duo Tanlines points out:

Well, shit. Robin Thicke turned 38 just last week, and Alan Thicke was 38 when he played Jason Seaver on Growing Pains.

This fun with ages and dates is even more of a mind fuck than the meme and discussion about The Wonder Years and its relation to the 60s, about how if it would take place today it would reflect back to 1995.

Could you imagine Robin Thicke trying to be a father to the Seaver kids? Especially on that cocaine party episode? Would Mike Seaver not turned out so weird? What about Carol and Ben? And how does Joanna Kerns factor into all of this? Is she the ’80s TV mom version of Paula?

Damn.

Either way, Alan certainly seemed like a more mature 38-year-old than Robin currently is. Must be a generational thing.

Tanlines have a new album out on May 19, and it’s called Highlights. Here’s the latest single off it, Slipping Away”…
