Editor’s Note: Welcome to V3 Weekend, Vanyaland‘s guide to help you sort out your weekend entertainment with curated selections and recommendations across our three pillars of MusicComedy, and Film/TV. It’s what you should know about, where you need to be, and where you’ll be going, with us riding shotgun along the way.

MusicRoll Call @ SoWa

It’s been a hot minute since we partied down at the SoWa Power Station — remember when Neon Indian dropped beats n’ treats in that space?! — but we’re skating over to the city spot this weekend for Roll Call @ SoWa. Laraland Roller Disco, Skaters Lounge NYC, and SoWa Boston team up for a roller skating extravaganza with DJ sets from Vanyaland faves Knife, Saucy Lady, Cakewalk, Ryan Brown, Bruno and others, both for all-ages afternoon “open skates” and late-night 18-plus disco parties that loops the loops until midnight. There’s also food from Johnny Pomodoro’s, a host of on-site vendors, and a Saturday spot from Bruised Boutique, billed as New England’s largest roller skate shop. Sounds like a pretty fun time in Boston, which we can all get down with.

ROLL CALL :: Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5 at SoWa Power Station, 550 Harrison Ave in Boston, MA :: Various times, $10 to $25 :: Event info :: Advance tickets

Comedy: Tiny at Midway Café

If you attended our first-ever comedy festival last summer at Bellforge Arts Center (and many of you did), then you caught a fit of awkward comedy joy from our boy Tiny. Now the Boston comedian is slinging his jokes for the record, and he’s at The Midway Café in Jamaica Plain tonight (March 3) for The Spoons album recording. Mic’d Up breaks it down: “You can’t get much more punk rock than playing in intimate dives and working alongside your local comrades, and Tiny has all the bases covered to accomplish a milestone. Catch the comedy vet at his finest as he records his first comedy special, while also sharing the stage with Angela Sawyer, Jack Hall, and the evening’s host Rob Crean.” Yes, he’s looking right at you and asked for your attendance.

TINY’S ALBUM RECORDING :: Friday, March 3 at Midway Café, 3496 Washington St. in Jamaica Plain, MA :: 9 p.m., 21-plus, $10 :: Advance Tickets

Film/TV‘The Big Lebowski’ at Somerville Theatre

Next month blesses us with the 25th anniversary of The Big Lebowski, the cult-classic 1998 crime comedy film from the Coen Brothers. There’s a few special screenings lined up around the area, but The Somerville Theatre gets a necessary jump on the action with a 35mm Midnight Special this Saturday night (March 4). We probably don’t need to tell you this, but here’s the film’s recap (we need to fill out this blurb): “The hilariously twisted comedy-thriller stars Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and Julianne Moore. Join the ‘Dude’ and his bowling buddies on their journey that blends unforgettable characters, kidnapping, a case of mistaken identity and White Russians. Enter the visually unique and entertaining world from the creative minds of the Coen Brothers and remember: The Dude abides.” Yeah.

‘THE BIG LEBOWSKI’ :: Saturday, March 4 at the Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square in Somerville, MA :: 11:54 p.m., $15 :: Event info :: Advance tickets
