While we’re still trying to figure out the math behind that age old question about woodchucks, we are at least confident that Nick Offerman’s got that woodchuck in him — and also he’s got a few laughs in store to help bring it out this weekend.
Returning to Chevalier Theatre on Saturday (April 18) for a little doubleheader action as part of his ongoing Big Woodchuck tour, Offerman and his poetic perspective on the ways of human interaction have both aged like the finest scotch. Of course, that means that with any smooth finish comes some strong notes and punches of unexpected flavor along the way, but we’re here for all of it, as Offerman has only further proven himself to be far more than just a comedian and actor on stage, as he shares his talents in woodworking through a surprising channel.
He’s also become quite the modern-day mashup of something between Jon Stewart and Walt Whitman, where scathing and humorous takes on politics and social issues of the day meet a deeply romantic love for nature and the very fine details that make being alive so cool, even when if we don’t realize it in our chaotic day-to-day.
His demeanor and candor make him the kind of person you want in your circle, so to have Offerman back in town is a treat that we’ve come to count on every time he’s unleashed a new project. So pull up a stump to the campfire of sweaty, musical fun, and maybe even a little horny mischief that will only keep us longing for his next visit.
