Editor’s Note: Welcome to V3 Weekend, Vanyaland‘s guide to help you sort out your weekend entertainment with curated selections and recommendations across our three pillars of MusicComedy, and Film/TV. It’s what you should know about, where you need to be, and where you’ll be going, with us riding shotgun along the way.

Music: Roadrunner’s Prom Party

Most of us went to prom, and most of us had a pretty miserable time. So Roadrunner is giving us a do-over, and The Glitter Boys and Booty Vortex are running point to ensure it’s actually a night to remember fondly. Roadrunner’s first-annual Prom Party takes over the Brighton music venue on Saturday (February 3) with a disco funk theme as we dance through the decades. Here’s the prom-promo word: “Get a rite of passage right this time! Relive your glory days on the dance floor! Show your high school crush why their biggest mistake was never asking YOU to the Prom! Cummerbunds! This night is for you! Among the many activities will be a photo experience by the one and only Brittany Rose Queen, so you’ll always remember your special evening. There will be amazing prizes for Best Dressed, Best Dancers, and of course the ultimate combo of both as we crown the evening’s Royalty. The Glitter Boys will get the party started, the 11-piece disco funk powerhouse known as Booty Vortex will keep it going, and then our beautiful Glitter Boys will return to have us dancing ‘til the chaperones say it’s time to go.”

ROADRUNNER’S 1ST ANNUAL PROM NIGHT :: Saturday, February 3 at Roadrunner, 89 Guest St. in Brighton, MA :: 7:30 p.m., 18-plus, $20 :: Event info :: Advance tickets

Comedy: Jessica Kirson at The Wilbur

As noted in Mic’d Up, there are a few solid live comedy options this weekend, from Kelly MacFarland at City Winery tonight (February 2) and Tiny delivering some punk rock comedy at The Midway. Jessica Kirson is also posting up, as the Jersey native holds court at The Wilbur on Sunday (February 3), the latest stop on her Never Ending Tour. Mic’d Up serves it up: “You want funny, Jessica Kirson’s got you. You want upfront and unfiltered, Kirson’s got you and then some. Quite frankly, there are so many boxes that she checks off when it comes to what makes a comedian such a magnetic artist, it would be nearly impossible to list them here. Trust us, she’s one of the best and regarded as such by her peers for so many reasons. Kirson’s got a little of something for everyone.”

JESSICA KIRSON :: Sunday, February 3 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., $35 to $47.50 :: Advance tickets

Film/TV: ‘Predator 2’ at The Coolidge

We’ve written a decent amount on the Predator franchise over the past decade, though we’re unsure if we’ve done a real deep-dive on Predator 2, the 1990 sci-fi action thriller that brought our beloved alien buff boi to the mean streets of Los Angeles. The film seems like it’s received a new sense of appreciation in recent years, especially with its excellent cast, and it hits The Coolidge’s After Midnite screen this evening (February 2). The Brookline theatre delivers the pitch: “This electrifying action sequel unleashes the deadly invisible Predator in another jungle: the urban jungle of LA. Danny Glover stars as a lieutenant who mistakenly concludes that mangled bodies found by the police are the work of feuding gangs. Instead, he finds himself confronting a savage alien who has come from a distant world to hunt humans for sport. Gary Busey and Ruben Blades co-star in this suspense-packed, high-tech thriller.”

‘PREDATOR 2’ :: Friday, February 2 at The Coolidge Corner Theatre, 290 Harvard St. in Brookline, MA :: 11:59 p.m., $15.50 :: Info and tickets
