Fans of ’80s-era sci-fi show Stranger Things won’t have to wait until Halloween to come face-to-face with Steve Harrington. That’s because the actor who plays Nancy Wheeler’s love interest in the hit Netflix series, Joe Keery, brings his Chicago psych-pop band Post Animal to Brighton Music Hall on May 17 as part of their tour with Wavves.

Tickets go on sale Friday (March 3) at 10 a.m.

Post Animal — who we are certain are still just totally thrilled with being tied into Stranger Things at every turn — are joining Wavves for eight dates in mostly Eastern time zones this spring, starting up May 12 in New York City and concluding May 23 in Chicago.

Keery plays guitar in the band, which has a bit of a Tame Impala thing going on and have been active in the Chicago scene long before he gained fame as a kinda sketchy ’80s-era monster-fighting high school dude with big poofy hair. We’ve hyped up Post Animal before on these digital pages, where we’ve compared Keery’s look and vibe on Stranger Things to that of Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, so we’re stoked they are finally headed to New England to get a glimpse of Keery’s roll IRL.

Check out all of Wavves tour dates below, including stints with Blink 182 and Kino Kimino, a new project from Kim Talon and Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley, and get familiar with Post Animal via the embeds. Season two of Stranger Things returns to Netflix this October.
