Editor’s Note: Last night at Brighton Music Hall, a local gig broke out at a touring band’s show. Or was it the other way around? New York’s Slothrust, featuring Brookline native Leah Wellbaum and Wellesley-raised Will Gorin, rolled back into town, flashing their genre-fleeing brand of guitar-pop, and were joined by one-time locals IAN SWEET (who shined at our SXSW party last year) and homegrown sludge rock trio Kal Marks. Slothrust — pronounce it like a rusty animal — are still riding high off last fall’s Everyone Else LP, and used last night’s Allston gig as their tour kickoff. Vanyaland’s Eddy Leiva was in the room to capture some evidence; check his full gallery below.
