So, as expected, director Rian Johnson and the cast of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi debuted behind-the-scenes footage from the film today at D23, Disney’s annual expo, much like how they released a stunner reel back when The Force Awakens came out in 2015.
It’s two-minutes-and-58-seconds of “holy shit guys look at the power of movies and the Force and let’s start screaming now,” so please enjoy it.
If you’ve been following leaks and spoilers, you’ve found a ton of the stuff you’ve read about confirmed in the best of ways. If you haven’t been, there’s some tantalizing information to be teased out over the course of those three minutes — Luke’s new outfit! The Stormtroopers’ new weapons! Rey fighting a group of staff-wielding people! — and we’ll have full and heavy analysis for come Monday.
But now we can just enjoy the fact that someone is innovating Star Wars? Time to celebrate, folks. Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters everywhere on December 15.
