While summer might be coming to an end here soon, Matt Braunger is determined to go “suns out, guns out” – at least figuratively – for one more run of shows before we welcome the crisp New England autumn.
Starting with one night at the famed White Bull Tavern on Thursday (September 18) with Hideout Comedy, Braunger makes his long-awaited return to the area with a brand new hour. It’s the just the latest gem in the diamond mine of his career as of late, as he works on the follow-up to his most recent special Doug, and returns to the live stage after lending his improv and acting chops to a number of on-screen gigs including a guest role in the Peacock Office spin-off, The Paper and an appearance in an upcoming film starring Nobody Wants This stars Leighton Meester and Sherry Cola.
While he continues to balance being a dad with bringing good vibes and laughs to the masses, the 51-year old has also rejoined the podcast game with the recently premiered Tank Top Talks, where he’s already sat down – with zero sleeves to be found – with a number of comedians and TV personalities like Edi Patterson, Dave Holmes, Steph Tolev, Langston Kerman, and more.
While his love for a Massachusetts crowd, which also stretches to MGM Springfield for a pair of shows on the days immediately following his stop in Boston, could be traced back to either being married to a Mansfield native or their mutual love of the The Town, Braunger may not be looking to steal anything from Fenway, but he is surely primed to steal the show at White Bull – so don’t miss out on this one.
MATT BRAUNGER :: Thursday, September 18 at White Bull Tavern, 1 Union St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 p.m., $25.85 :: Advance tickets
