This Show Is Tonight: Allie X presents a ‘Weird World’ on Halloween

Courtesy of Crossroads Presents

While we’re all busy making plans for 2025, Allie X is here giving us something to do on this Halloween night — and there is no better night to Xperience her “Weird World.” The Canadian alt-pop singer, songwriter, and visual artist — who is no stranger to our pink digital ink — starts her year-closing Weird World Tour with an October 31 party at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club, and the run is named after a track on her February album Girl With No Face, which should appear on some best-of lists just after the tour wraps around Thanksgiving.

“It’s very hard to sum up a body of work you’ve spent thousands of hours on, but here’s an attempt,” she writes. “There is a death in this music, as well as the beginning of a rebirth. I needed to make something that came completely from me. If only once, and if only to prove to myself that I could do it. I would describe these songs as angry, stubborn, honest, dry, melodramatic, fast, and indulgent… the same way some people describe me [laughs]. I hope everyone likes it but if not, try turning it up a bit.”

Sound advice, as always.
