It may not exactly be fun to be as in tune to the absurdities occurring every day as Roy Wood Jr. has been over the years. But hey, he’s just happy to be here, and we’re happy to have him back in Boston.
Making his way to The Wilbur tonight (March 15), the longtime stand-up comedy staple brings his Happy To Be Here tour to town as he surely looks to unfold at least some of the insanity that has taken place in the political, social, and even his personal realm since his last visit, delivered with his critically-acclaimed perspective and blunt approach. Over the course of the past year, Wood Jr. has encountered some significant career milestones including his hosting gig at the 2023 White House Correspondents Dinner, and a string of guest host slots on his longtime home of The Daily Show, before exiting the program in October.
His most recent stand-up special, Imperfect Messenger, premiered on Comedy Central in 2021.
ROY WOOD JR. :: Friday, March 15 at The Wilbur, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 p.m., $29 to $49 :: Advance tickets
