TIFFY throws it back to the detached cool of ’90s buzz bins with ‘In Jest’

We are here for the TIFFY glow-up. The project of Boston-based, California-raised Tiffany Sammy has been a fixture on these digital pages since 2019, and now is ready for amplified attention with the forthcoming release of debut album So Serious, which hits November 3 via Totally Real Records / Dollhouse Lightning. As a bit of an aural appetizer, TIFFY today (October 10) releases the lyric video for “In Jest,” a meandering alt-rock cruiser that throws it back to the detached cool of ’90s buzz bins and furthers her own brand of “soft-punk.” The memorable “In Jest,” complete with its visual depicting its lyrics as text messages, is billed as being “built around a chewy riff and the act of taking the piss without getting too hurt about it.” So there’s a lot here that’s wholly relatable.
