Rema, RAVE & ROSES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR II, July 21
Remember that time in that movie about social media where the guy was like “A million streams isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? A billion streams.” Maybe we’re misremembering it, or maybe we’re just raising a glass to Rema, whose hit “Calm Down” with Selena Gomez just hit the combined billion-stream mark on Spotify (his version and hers). The Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper drops his Rave & Roses ULTRA deluxe album this Friday, a re-load and re-boot of last year’s breakout album, and then sets off on a summer North American tour with Victony that hits Citizens House of Blues on July 21. Tickets go on sale Thursday (April 27) at 10 a.m. local time.
It’s a big week for Deer Tick, as the celebrated Providence folk-rock band announced new album Emotional Contracts, out June 16 via ATO Records; a lively new single and video titled “Forgiving Ties”; and a North American tour that plays Citizens House of Blues on November 18 (after a summer run with Jason Isbell). “Each track is like a little deal you make with yourself (a contract if you will),” the band says of the new record. “Much of the material focuses on the fight to survive. A timely coincidence with all the COVID lockdowns and canceled shows…or perhaps all of that was subconscious inspiration. But here we are; Deer Tick lives to see another day.” Tickets go on sale Friday (April 28) at 10 a.m. local time.
