Cue “That Thing You Do!” because The Thing in The Spring just dropped its 2023 lineup. The New Hampshire music and arts festival returns to Nova Arts in Keene for the weekend of May 19 to 21, offering a sonic buffet of all genres alternative and atmospheric.

This year’s leading acts include former Boston residents Guerilla Toss (pictured above), Portland’s Mali Obomsawin Sextet, Smog founder Bill Callahan, and Peruvian sound artist Maria Chavez. In addition to a healthy showing of Massachusetts talent — such as Editrix, TIFFY, Landowner, Sinaloa, and All Feels — the 2023 lineup highlights artists from nearly every corner of New England, spanning Dover, New Hampshire (Sponge Head), Burlington, Vermont (Rough Francis), Providence, Rhode Island (Caloric), and beyond.

This year’s Thing in the Spring will also feature a sound installation from Vermont’s Wren Kitz, poetry readings at the Harris Center for Conservation Education, an experimental sound lab, and yoga and ice baths at Mudita Massage & Wellness. Given increased involvement from nearby organizations, it seems that the festival is settling into its new home, after relocating from downtown Peterborough to Keene last year.

Weekend passes are $70, while day passes fetch $30 each; check out the day-by-day lineups and grab your tickets here.
