Possums, and jokes, and riffs, oh my! Matt Shore is in a celebratory mood for good reason, and he’s pulling out all the stops — as well as his trusty ironing board — to do some songs at you and deliver some much needed laughs in the process.
Posting up at The Middle East Upstairs for a little shindig on Saturday (October 17) to celebrate the release of his debut full-length album 2x Nicest Boy, the Portsmouth native brings all of the lyrical oddity, comedic ingenuity, and musical precision he’s crafted with his latest slate of songs, often delivered under the moniker of Matt Shore Does Songs At You, where he simply refuses to dilute a quality live experience for the sake of comfort or convenience.
From “Play Guitar In Her General Direction” to “Guy I Saw at CVS One Time,” Shore has managed to capture pieces of the human experience that we’ve all endured in one way or another, and that’s what make this collection of songs so special.
No matter how many folks are there to cheer him on, Shore is going to give you 100% of his performing self every time, so why not go check him and his ironing board out?
