It should be a solid summer for music fests, and here’s a new one for later in the season: The inaugural Sound On Sound Music Festival sets up shop at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut, across two days, September 24 and 25. It’s run by Founders Entertainment, the group behind New York City’s Governors Ball, and they’re teaming with Live Nation Connecticut and the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater for a fairly decent reason to go to The Constitution State in the first place.
And that’s because the lineup is pretty solid, with Stevie Nicks leading a slate that includes Brandi Carlile, The National, Father John Misty, Black Pumas, Ziggy Marley, Gary Clark Jr., The Head and the Heart, Band of Horses, Jenny Lewis, Jade Tree, and more. In addition to Nicks, the fest is also headlined by The Lumineers and Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, so we should all be back in Boston or Brooklyn or wherever at a reasonable hour. Check the full lineup below.
“It’s been a goal of ours to introduce a world class musical festival to Connecticut; the place where I grew up and where co-founder Tom Russell and I spent our high school years together,” says Jordan Wolowitz of Founders Entertainment. “Sound On Sound is a two-day event that we’ve curated for a community that we personally feel so close to. As a Connecticut resident myself, I am proud to present a festival that celebrates exceptional music, hand-selected local food and libations, and outdoor fun spent at the beautiful Seaside Park.”
Sound On Sound boasts two stages and promises no live sets will overlap across its two days of programming, so each performance is viewable for those in attendance. Two-day general admission tickets priced at $219 go on sale this Friday (February 18) at noon local time via soundonsoundct.com, and you can get all the ticket information and various ticket tiers, VIP levels, and pricing there as well.
