Wooll balance yearning and comfort on new single ‘Weatherman’

Look, we realize there’s only so many cozy textile metaphors you can make when covering a band like Wooll, but it’s not our fault that their new song sounds like faceplanting into a blanket on a drizzly day. The Providence band this week (October 13) released “Weatherman,” the third single from their upcoming album Flaat Earth, due out November 10.

“Slept on your pillow last night/I’ll search for your scent until I die,” coos vocalist, songwriter, and acoustic guitarist Corinne Roma. That level of yearning could shift a song’s tone from tranquil to intense, but under Wooll’s command, Roma’s desire lolls on a bed of contented shoegaze.

For those who can’t wait for the arrival of Flaat Earth next month, 7-inches that combine “Weatherman,” prior single “Picboy,” and “one extra goody” from the new LP are available to order via the group’s Bandcamp. Tune in below.
