The idea of being a “comedy rock star” is not a title easily attained. However, it’s considerably harder to maintain an approach as a “comedy punk rocker,” but Chris Gethard, as we will see up close and personal this weekend, has the secret stuff to make it happen.

Throwing down at The Comedy Studio for two shows on Saturday (July 18), Gethard returns to the area for what feels like too rare of a show in Massachusetts. Along with his carefully crafted stories and jokes, and his precisely executed punchlines, Gethard continues to carry with him an ability to be raw and vulnerable on stage, which only further galvanizes his stature as one of the most well-respected comedy voices on the grind today. The New York-based standout recently dropped his latest special with A Father and the Sun, while continuing to host his hit weekly podcast Beautiful/Anonymous.

A sold-out early show should be seen as more than just an indication of a fun show to check out. Get with Gethard on the late show tip while he’s here, as it’s sure to open up a lot more conversation than you might think.
