Time and time again, we’ve seen what Alex Edelman is capable of on stage and screen. Now, with an all-new slate of what is sure to be a fresh masterclass of comedy writing, he’s back on home turf for a little while to unleash all the goods.
Once he finishes up at Honest is Easy, a multi-genre throwdown of music and comedy at his hometown teen center in Brookline tonight (May 29) alongside Ryan Miller of locally grown alt-rock titans Guster, the Brookline native is set to bring his latest one-man show What Are You Going To Do to town on Saturday (May 30) for one night at Emerson Colonial Theatre. Where his previous critically-acclaimed show Just For Us took a sobering look at anti-semitism in modern society, Edelman once again delves into the crevices of our social, political, and cultural landscape with his potent cocktail of satire, road-forged joke writing and award-winning storytelling, resulting in what is bound to be one of the hardest-hitting comedy offerings you’ll see all year.
The last time we saw Edelman, it may have been easy to think he couldn’t possibly have more to say about these issues – but now that he’s back, we’re glad he does.
