Baby Yoda wants you to watch the new ‘Mandalorian and Grogu’ trailer

In case you were left wanting by the Super Bowl spot last week — in which Din Djarin and Baby Yoda ride on a sleigh led by Tauntauns, presumably to distribute Budweiser Blue Milk to thirsty dairy-holics — Lucasfilm hasn’t left you hanging. That’s right: it’s time for a brand new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is a title we’re still disappointed by. Couldn’t they have gone just a little more… theatrical with it? We don’t need a nutty after-ellipsis title, but it is plain-jane, though there hasn’t been a properly bizarre title since George Lucas, in his words, sold his “baby” to the “white slavers.” Yes, he really said that.

Anyway, there’s plenty of new action, shots of Sigourney Weaver (who has a goofy action figure coming out in a little bit), and lots — and lots — of Baby Yoda for you to enjoy. There’s even a Baby Greedo. There’s a Martin Scorsese voice-over role, which we think is the first he’s done since Shark Tale. It’s the Tuesday after Presidents’ Day, folks: This is as good as the news cycle’s gonna get for a bit.

Peep it:

Here’s an official synopsis for The Mandalorian and Grogu:

“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”

The Mandalorian and Grogu jump into a theater near you on May 22. Yeah, we know: They couldn’t get May 4. Falls on a Monday this year, it seems. And “May the First” doesn’t sound as good, anyhow. At least we get Star Wars movies in May again, though. It really was kind of weird having all of the sequel trilogy and the other installments (except for Solo) land in winter. We want our eyes to hurt when we leave the theater, dammit.
