You know that parking area across from the Sinclair? That godsend of a lot reserved for when you’ve already circled Harvard Square three times and haven’t found an inch of available pavement, let alone a legal parking spot?
That’s the new home of No Hype Fest, the annual summer music bash organized by Boston DJ duo SuperSmashBroz (pictured above). After shifting to Artists for Humanity in Dorchester last year, the festival sets up in Cambridge for the first time on Saturday, September 6, transforming the Church Street parking lot into festival grounds between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The fifth edition of the fest appears to be the largest yet. Rapper Cash Cobain headlines the event, while the other top-billed acts actually hail from New England; JELEEL! is from Providence, while June Freedom was born in Boston and raised in Cape Verde. Some of the rising artists repping the area’s music scene are songwriter/producer Tyler Loyal, R&B act Yanna G, and vocalist Sança (of CLUB INDGO), while DJs on the docket include Towfu, Baby Indiglo, and SuperSmashBroz themselves, among others.
General admission and VIP tickets are on sale now; check out the full lineup announcement below.
