Mic’d Up: W. Kamau Bell asks the tough questions at The Wilbur

Via The Wilbur

Editor’s Note: It’s the same thing we all know in love when it comes to Vanyaland’s recurring weekly live comedy rundown, Mic’d Up — just a slightly different face. We’ll be hyping club shows, theater and arena gigs, open mics, and whatever else to help fill your free time with some much-needed laughter.

With the constant barrage of news and chaos on a daily basis, we have a whole lot of questions. Equipped with some answers, or even just the right thing to say in the moment, is W. Kamau Bell, who returns to help us figure things out — and perhaps pose a few questions of his own in the process.

Making his way back to The Wilbur on Friday (May 23), Bell returns to town during a time that yearns for his outlook and perspective as intensely as ever, having utilized his voice and creativity as tools for both positive change in the comedy realm, as well as the social climate in general. Although he’s been fairly quiet in terms of releasing any new projects since 2023 (aside from a titanic run on Celebrity Jeopardy in 2024), Bell continues to spread the good word with a smile, a dangerously deep and sharp perspective and many points to make, consistently adding levity to the ever-evolving hellscape we see before us on the daily.

Whether you’re looking for validation in how you’re feeling about the world around you, or just for a simple night of laughs, Bell has you covered, so check it while he’s in town.

W. KAMAU BELL :: Friday, May 23 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 p.m., $35 to $59 :: Advance tickets
