Samia, The Bloodless Tour, May 21
Samia is here to not simply attend the party, but to redefine it. The rising Minneapolis-based indie rock artist brought a bevy of news this week, including a vibrant new single called “Lizard”; word of new album Bloodless out in April via Grand Jury Music; and a North American tour in support of the record that plays Boston’s Citizens House of Blues on May 21. “Lizard” should only amplify the young artist’s growing reach, as it glistens with pop smarts and brightened melody while lamenting the party culture that has hit the skids in recent years. “It’s painful to stay present, to exist as a real, flesh-and-blood person at a party, after existing comfortably as a myth or a memory,” Samia offers up. “And it was even more painful to try not to ruin a party I’d already ruined.” Bloodless is Samia’s follow-up to her 2023 breakout and award-winning record Honey, and feels poised like one of the more vital releases on the spring calendar. Tickets go on sale Friday (February 21) at 10 a.m. local time.
