Mic’d Up: Gary Gulman strikes ‘Comedy Gold’ in Harvard Square

It’s always nice to have a big homecoming party for your best friend who moved away. But sometimes, it’s just better when they drop in for a day to say “hi,” and that’s kind of what Gary Gulman is doing in Cambridge this week.

Making his way underground to The Comedy Studio on Friday (February 20), Peabody’s favorite son is bringing a double dose of his latest material to Harvard Square. First, he’ll serve as the special guest on the club’s weekly Comedy Gold showcase at 7:30 p.m. alongside Uri Shatil, Jessie Baade, Dan Crohn, Peter Martin, and Ryan Shea. Then, to close out a good old fashioned late Friday night, Gulman will take to the mic again during the Late Night Show in addition to Ayesheh Mae, Ryan Shea, Sarah May, Alexis Cristaldi, Kindra Lansburg, Garrett Finn, and Ramses Rafael.

The quick stop-in at home comes amidst a consistent tour schedule for Gulman, fueled by his latest one-man show Grandiloquent, which ran Off-Broadway in early 2025 before turning into a full-scale tour that peppered the remainder of his year.

There’s already a lot to look forward to on Friday night at The Comedy Studio as always, but to have Gulman back home, even if for just a night, is a true cherry on top if there ever was one.
