This Show Is Tonight: Vacations go on holiday in Boston

In the immortal words of The Wizard of Oz, there’s no place like home — unless, of course, you’re Vacations. The Australia-based indie rock mainstays released their third LP, No Place Like Home, back in January, and have since crossed the Pacific to hit the road here in North America. Tonight (July 31), they bring their shiny summer blend of guitar-driven synth rock to Boston when they hit the stage at Royale.

Joining the band will be Atlanta-based four piece Lunar Vacation. Earlier this month they shared their latest single “Sick,” and are looking forward to a full-length release September 13 with their sophomore effort Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire.

Bucking the vacation-name trend will be opener Alex Lahey, who we love here at V. The fellow Australian kicks things off with a solo acoustic set in support of her ripping 2023 record The Answer Is Always Yes, and then will be back on stage as she joins Vacations on guitar and saxophone.

VACATIONS + LUNAR VACATION + ALEX LAHEY :: Wednesday, July 31 at Royale, 279 Tremont St, Boston :: 8 p.m., 18+, $30 :: Event Info :: Advance Tickets
