While Boston Calling is sure to bring the masses to Allston on Memorial Day weekend, DeRay Davis is placing a call of his own from Tremont Street right around the same time.
Per the announcement earlier this week, Davis is making his way back to Boston for another round at The Wilbur on May 24. Although it’s been a few years since Davis released his first special (2017’s How To Act Black), the Chicago native and multi-faceted artist has continued to build his cred in the comedy realm with shows all over the country and acting roles in a number of films including the Barber Shop franchise, Semi-Pro and 21 Jump Street. He’s also recently contributed to specials like Amazon Prime Video’s Phat Tuesdays: The Era Of Hip Hop Comedy and History of Swear Words on Netflix.
Although a few months apart, Max Amini and Matt McCusker are also making their way to The Wilbur later this year. While it’s a return affair for Amini after a few years away, McCusker is bringing his unfiltered and unpredictable brand of comedy to Tremont Street for the very first time.
Amini brings his wide-ranging comedy outlook back to Boston for one show at The Wilbur on April 28. When he isn’t working as a globally touring comedian with a penchant for detailed storytelling and a sharp sense of observation and perspective, or as a showrunner with his own production company, Abstract Media, Amini also hosts a podcast, Wild Truth with Max Amini.
McCusker makes his way to Boston on October 18, fully equipped with a brand new batch of his brash and unfiltered storytelling. In addition to his work on stage, which has most recently resulted in a full hour-long special, The Speed of Light, McCusker also serves as co-host to Shane Gillis on Matt & Shane’s Secret Podcast.
Tickets for Amini are on sale to the public now, but tickets for Davis and McCusker can be purchased through The Regulars presale today (January 24) and during The Wilbur presale starting tomorrow (January 25) at 10 a.m. ET by using the code VANYA. Public on-sale begins Friday (January 26) at 10 a.m. ET.
