Concerts! Private parties! Restaurant openings! Avant-garde art exhibits! Jam sessions! Fashion shows! Boozy brunches! Schedule those events back-to-back, and you’ll hear the frenzied flow of “I AINT GOT TIME,” the new single from Timi O.

The Massachusetts-born artist — who now spends much of his time in New York City — dropped the tune last week (October 6) as the first entry in his developing MOVEMENTS series, an ode to his “urban metamorphosis” upon moving out of state. “I AINT GOT TIME” captures Timi’s surrender to the cultural current of his new home, as he rejects city living as a spectator sport and plunges into the nauseating blur of action encircling him. The single compresses criss-crossing leaps between events into one fluid motion, buoyed by house beats that flip his non-stop rush into a trendsetter’s go-to dance move.

“I used to just exist in spaces,” Timi tells Vanyaland. “I became present and more open to experiencing what these new environments have to offer. With the bad energy gone, I had room to accept new energy and just continue the flow. That’s actually what inspired me to start this whole MOVEMENTS series. I want to continue to release the energy stored in these moments in time.”
