We always have time for new music from The Killers, especially when Brandon Flowers & Co. lean into the more dramatic dancefloor side of their ’80s synth-pop influences. That’s especially in play on new single “Your Side of Town,” which hits the streams today (August 25) and won’t sound out of place on playlists alongside Pet Shop Boys and Erasure. It’s The Killers’ first new music of 2023, following last year’s synth sparkle of standalone single “boy” and the deluxe version of 2021 album Pressure Machine. A certified bop, “Your Side of Town” was written by Flowers, and produced by The Killers, Stuart Price, and Shawn Everett. It should sound huge on the festival circuit, where the band is set to play this weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals in the United Kingdom; New Jersey’s Sea.Hear.Now (September 16); a Vegas homecoming at Life Is Beautiful (September 22); SoCal’s Ohana Festival (September 29), and elsewhere.
