Editor’s Note: Welcome to V3 Weekend, Vanyaland‘s guide to help you sort out your weekend entertainment with curated selections and recommendations across our three pillars of MusicComedy, and Film/TV. It’s what you should know about, where you need to be, and where you’ll be going, with us riding shotgun along the way.

MusicTaylor Hawkins Tribute @ The Burren

When Foo Fighters play Boston Calling this spring, there’s likely to be some sort of Taylor Hawkins tribute on the big stage at Harvard Athletic Complex. But as massive as the Foos have gotten over the past 20 years, the late drummer has always inspired a personal, more intimate connection with musicians. That connection will be on display Saturday (March 11) at The Burren in Somerville as the scene comes together for In Your Honor: A Foo Fighters Tribute to Taylor Hawkins. The evening features a host of Foo Fighters tunes performed by a wealth of homegrown drummer and other musicians, with appearances by Josh Pickering, Charlie Black, Joel Reader, Triana Wilson, Andrea Gillis, Chuck Ferreira, Erica Mantone, Glen Fant, Jason Raffi, Josh Cuadra, Julie Perron, Kameelah, Kristin Holliday, Jason Roman, Rice Edmonston, Scott Fleming, Sir-Ken Celli, Tamora Gooding, and more. Quite the stacked lineup.

IN YOUR HONOR: A FOO FIGHTERS TRIBUTE TO TAYLOR HAWKINS :: Saturday, March 11 at The Burren, 247 Elm St. in Somerville, MA :: 6 p.m., all ages, $20 in advance and $25 at the door :: Event info :: Advance tickets :: Flyer by Daykamp Creative

Comedy: Cameron Esposito @ Laugh Boston

There’s nothing we like more than when a weekend is stretched to its limits, so we’re always seeking some Sunday night fun around town to push the inevitable workweek as far back as possible. This weekend (March 12), Cameron Esposito brings the action as the celebrated comedian holds court at Laugh Boston in the Seaport for a pair of shows. As Jason Greenough notes in this week’s Mic’d Up: “After quite a whirlwind of a few years, Esposito returns to deliver a potent hour composed of their signature verbal illustrations, and what we can only imagine are pretty powerful and poignant moments and experiences. It’s good to see her back in town, and we’re sure the feeling is mutual for the Boston College alum.”

CAMERON ESPOSITO :: Sunday, March 12 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: 6 and 8:30 p.m., $35 :: Advance Tickets

Film/TV‘Skinamarink’ @ The Brattle

Perhaps the most buzzed about — and hotly debated — horror film since the pandemic, Skinamarink has been billed as everything from the scariest movie ever to one of its most overrated, and like most things the truth probably falls somewhere in the middle. But Kyle Edward Ball’s low-budget experimental psychological thriller about nightmares and how they wreak havoc on us as children has stirred up something pretty genuine, and there are few things as fun as determining where you stand on a divisive and polarizing film. The synopsis gives a brief insight: “Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.” As it hits The Brattle in Cambridge this weekend for three screenings, the only question is: Will you be deathly afraid, or just bored to death?

‘SKINAMARINK’ :: Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 13 at The Brattle, 40 Brattle St. in Cambridge, MA :: Friday and Saturday at 9:15 p.m., Sunday at 4 p.m., $14 each night and $12 for matinee :: Brattle event page
