Chris Distefano prepares new hour of comedy chaos for The Wilbur

With years of selling out shows every time he’s come to town in the rearview, Chris Distefano is no stranger to Boston. Now, as he plans his return to the city’s most storied comedy stage, it’s safe to assume that Chrissy Crab Cakes once again has something truly bananas in store.

As announced this week, Distefano is set for a Boston-baked sequel when he makes his triumphant return to The Wilbur on March 24. Just slightly over a year since his first packed house on Tremont Street, the comedian, podcast host and history buff has prepared a new hour of his playfully unhinged brand of stand-up that incites as many cringes as it does laughs, with the shadow of his latest special, Speshy Weshy, which premiered on Netflix last May. In addition to his consistently potent comedy force selling out spaces all over the country, Distefano also co-hosts the Hey Babe! podcast alongside Impractical Jokers ring leader, Sal Vulcano.

While The Wilbur is getting a big dose Distefano’s New York swagger, the room will first be getting a hearty serving of the great white north when longtime comedian, director and The Kids In The Hall sketch comedy legend Bruce McCulloch makes his way to The Wilbur for one night of his solo stand-up work, as part of his Bravery and Stupidity Tour, on March 16. While it isn’t technically his first swing at the famed venue, this will mark the first time McCulloch has taken on the room on the solo tip. In addition to his work on screen and onstage with the rest of his KITH brethren, which yielded both a new season of the staple Canadian sketch show and a documentary, The Kids In The Hall: Comedy Punks on Amazon Prime Video in 2022, McCulloch has also had extensive success as a director. Some of his credits behind the camera include Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Schitt’s Creek, and Trailer Park Boys, as well as a number of films.

Additionally, Hannah Berner has added a second show, a 9:45 p.m. spot, to her sold out night in town on May 13.

You can access presale tickets to all of these shows right now via The Regulars presale, and by using the code VANYA before they go on sale to the general public Friday (January 27) at noon ET.
