Back in November, it was revealed that Everything But The Girl would resurface in 2023 with the English electronic music duo’s first new album in 24 years. This week, we receive the first taste of those efforts, as married collaborators Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn issue the pulsating “Nothing Left To Lose,” a downtempo house track that belies the bulk of time between releases. “We were aware of the pressures of such a long-awaited comeback, so we tried to begin instead in a spirit of open-minded playfulness, uncertain of the direction, receptive to invention,” says Thorn. On April 21, Everything But The Girl will release Fuse, the follow-up to 1999’s Temperamental. Recall all those lost nights dancing to ’90s-definer “Missing,” and embark on a new nocturnal chapter with “Nothing Left To Lose” below.
