Lady Gaga breaks Fenway Park’s attendance record for concerts

When it comes to making history at Fenway Park, Lady Gaga is batting a thousand. In September of 2017, pop music’s enigma-in-chief became the first woman to ever headline the historic ballpark during her Joanne world tour. Now Vanyaland has verified that her Chromatica Ball performance last Friday (August 19) is Fenway’s highest-attended single concert to date.

A Live Nation New England representative tells Vanyaland that over 37,200 people were in attendance at last Friday’s show, making it the “highest single show attendance” for a Fenway Park concert.

Gaga’s number bests past records set by fellow major league stars like Paul McCartney and Jason Aldean; she also soars above other single-day headliners from the past two decades, such as The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, The Who, Guns N’ Roses, and Boston’s own Aerosmith.

Lady Gaga shared the news over the weekend via TikTok, writing “WHEN YOU JUST PLAYED FENWAY PARKS [sic] highest attended and highest paid show of ALL TIME” over a video of her dramatic exit from Friday’s concert. Gaga’s second claim about being Fenway’s “highest-paid show” has yet to be confirmed or denied by Live Nation.
