After a two-year hiatus, Boston Calling Music Festival returns to Harvard Athletic complex in Allston this weekend, a three-day slate that starts Friday (May 27) with Paris Jackson on the Red Stage at 2 p.m. EDT and wraps Sunday night (May 29) with a headlining set by Metallica. From now until we enter sandman, Vanyaland will be bringing you updates, news, live coverage and photography straight from the festival grounds. This year’s festival features more than 50 performing bands and artists, including roughly 20 with homegrown ties to New England. In addition to Metallica closing things out, Nine Inch Nails headline Friday and The Strokes cap off Saturday, with a solid undercard that features HAIM, Weezer, Glass Animals, Modest Mouse, Run The Jewels, and more. The Tivoli Audio Orange Stage features a full state of hometown sounds, including sets from Cam Meekins, Van Buren Records, and Born Without Bones.
