We love nothing more than a new band we simply cannot wait to tell all our friends about, and it seems Momma is the act that fits that bill in 2022, picking up right where Wet Leg left off last year. The Brooklyn crew give us something to shout about today with a delectable new ’90s alt-rock fuzzer called “Speeding 72,” the follow-up to February’s roaring “Rockstar” and the latest from Momma’s forthcoming third studio album Household Name, out July 1.
As the dust settles on the LP, and those Juliana Hatfield Three and Smashing Pumpkins influences take on a life of their own, Momma head out on a North American tour that lands at Brighton Music Hall in Allston on September 12 (also note August shows in Providence and New Haven, opening for Snail Mail). It already feels like one of those shows you just have to attend.
