New Found Glory, Real Friends, The Early November, Doll Skin live in Phoenix

With just a week left in their "From Your Screens to Your Stereo to Your Town" tour, pop-punk veterans New Found Glory hit Phoenix’s The Van Buren last Saturday (June 6). Openers Doll Skin claimed Phoenix as their hometown show, which fell just a week after their third studio album, Love Is Dead and We Killed Her. Their first release on Hopeless Records broke the rules of the pop-punk/alt-rock genre by not including a single love song — a refreshing change of pace in a landscape of dudes wailing about women they probably didn’t even date. Also supporting this stacked tour are Real Friends, who embark on a European tour this fall, and The Early November, who are expected to release a new album this year. Headliners New Found Glory celebrate 22 years of bandhood in 2019, and smushed a mix of movie soundtrack covers and originals into a set that kept the energy up all night. The tour is named after New Found Glory’s May release ofFrom the Screen to Your Stereo 3, and continues through Texas to conclude in Florida.
