Boston Calling Music Festival kicks off two weeks from tomorrow, but its 15-week “Block Party” series gets an early jump on the live music action. The fest today unveiled its lineup for the Boston Calling Block Party Series, a free, Thursday evening post-work hang that goes down at downtown’s Dewey Square Park from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Block Party performer lineup has a decidedly different flavor than the festival, which over Memorial Day weekend welcomes Travis Scott, CHVRCHES, Tame Impala and others to the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston.
The Block Party series this year features band like Bourbon Chasers, East Coast Soul, and Nonplussed on a rotating schedule. Beyond the bands, there’s also lawn games, Adirondack chairs, and other outdoor amenities. It’s presented by Miller Lite, and 21-plus.
