Teenage Fanclub announce North American tour, including Boston date

Teenage Fanclub are coming back to our towns, though they’ll be down a member.

Back in April it was revealed that co-founder, vocalist, and bassist Gerard Love was leaving the veteran indie rock band after nearly 30 years, but that’s not stopping them from a North American tour that lands at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston on March 11.

Tickets to the 19-date run, which begins February 21 in Vancouver and concludes with a Merge Records 30th anniversary gig March 18 in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, go on sale this Friday (September 21) at 10 a.m.

With Love’s departure after a run of legacy shows in Europe this fall, Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley are picking up the slack. “The three of us have spread the burden of songwriting over the years, so there will be a bit more work involved creatively,” says Blake. “We don’t feel pressure to get somebody in as a songwriter to replace Gerry. Whatever happens, I know that we’ll create something that we’ll be happy to put our name behind.”
