Buffalo Tom and J Mascis cover Mazzy Star’s ‘Fade Into You’

Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

Early last week Mazzy Star announced a return to our lives via a new track called “Quiet, The Winter Harbor” and a new EP, arriving in June, titled Still. But it’s true that Hope Sandoval never really left our playlists, both the ones we cue up every morning and the ones on a continuous loop in our heads, because for many, “Fade Into You” has been a constant source of everything since its release in the fall of ’93.

This past Friday night (April 20), Buffalo Tom dusted it off during their sold-out performance at The Paradise Rock Club, where they were celebrating new record Quiet & Peace. Bill Janovitz an the gents made the occasion all the more special by welcoming to the stage a certain J Mascis to join in on lead guitar and vocals, which he shared with Chris Colbourn.

There’s a bunch of fan-filmed video making the rounds, and in the one below, Marshfield’s Brian Tiernan was up close and personal to capture the goods. Allow it to wash over you below.
