This year we call 2018 may be a giant steaming pile of catshit, but at least we have a new Street Dogs record to anticipate later this spring.

The Boston punk band has today announced a new album, Stand for Something or Die for Nothing, and it's due out June 22 via Century Media. The 11-track LP is billed in press notes as "a punk rock album for the new era," and a socially-conscious record of "anthems for the working class." It was recorded at Woolly Mammoth Studios, Sugarland Studio, and Q Division Studio, and produced by bassist Johnny Rioux, mix by Sean Cahalin, and mastered by Jeff Lipton.

“Punk, to me, is people living how they want to not how they are told to,” says vocalist Mike McColgan in the press release. He adds: “The dumbing down of America is a reason to write songs in 2018. The theme is wake the fuck up and the working class needs to unite across all colors, creeds, nationalities, genders and realize that we are being pitted against each other by snake oil salesmen and autocrats.”

After appearing at Sabroso Festival in Denver and Albuquerque later this month and Camp Punk in Drublic in June, Street Dogs will set out on East Coast and West Coast tours this summer, and one of the early dates is a June 8 appearance at Fete Music Hall in Providence with Darkbuster and Grade 2. See all their summer dates below, as well as the pair of tour posters and the Stand for Something or Die for Nothing album art.
