Fast Tracked: Father John Misty name drops himself on ‘Mr. Tillman’

Father John Misty can’t seem to stop penning songs that reveal his legal name. Following I Love You Honeybear’s “The Night Josh Tillman Came to Our Apartment,” the perverse but charming folk musician name-drops himself again on new tune “Mr. Tillman,” a standalone track (from what we can tell) that’ll join the likes of “Real Love Baby” and “Holy Hell.” Listen as Misty checks into a hotel and gets quasi-reprimanded for some outstanding charges. A lingering word to the wise: “Don’t leave your mattress in the rain/If you sleep on the balcony.” Featured photo by Ben Stas for Vanyaland.
