Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

It feels like as soon as we got to know Sleeping Lion, they bounced on us.

After launching here in Boston, the electronic-pop duo now calls Los Angeles home, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t providing beats and treats to those of us stuck back east. Nate Flaks and Noah Longworth McGuire recently took part in the Boston Music Awards’ 617 Sessions, a year-long recording series that will deliver one band or artist to the House of Blues stage in December, and this week have dropped an October mixtape that we’ve been banging hard here at Vanyaland HQ.

The playlist, which you can hear below and via Spotify, pulls together 26 tracks over 87 minutes of music, including faves from Tennyson, Dermot Kennedy, Maggie Rogers, The 1975, VÉRITÉ, Chelsea Cutler & Quinn XCII, Louis The Child & Ashe, EXES, and more. They’ve even included their own gold-kissed Sleeping Lion remix of VALNTN & Emilia Ali’s “Can’t Let Go” and we can’t fault them for that.

Meanwhile, one of your last chances to catch Sleeping Lion play a show here in Boston (until they come back on tour as pop superstars) arrives October 24, when they dazzle up the Middle East in Cambridge with Opia.
