Guster’s set at a Kansas City fest got rained out so they played a pop-up show in a parking garage

Guster have pretty much seen it all and done it all in the 25 years since forming at Tufts University. So really, a little old fashioned Midwestern inclement weather is no real obstacle to a good time — or a rock and roll show.

This past Saturday (June 17), Guster were set to headline the Boulevardia urban street festival in Kansas City, Missouri, when the storms came and lightning sent fans into a nearby parking garage for safety. True to form, Guster set up shop in the garage and fulfilled their musical duty, even busting out a timely rendition of “Blister In The Sun.”

“Lightning came and wiped out our set at the Boulevardia Festival in K.C. tonight so we did a pop up set in the parking garage and had the best time,” the band writes on Instagram. “We even did a Violent Femmes cover.”

Check out some photos and video of the performance below. After kicking off their 25th anniversary celebrations with a string of shows at the Paradise Rock Club back in January (and a skate on the Frog Pond), Guster are back in New England this summer, playing the Do Good Fest in Vermont (July) and the multi-performance Guster On The Ocean weekend in Portland, Maine (August).
