Louis CK Strikes Again: Follows secret McGreevy’s show with drop-in at the Burren

Louis CK has something on U2. He actually showed up to the Burren.

The superstar comedian and Newton native is in town for four shows this week at the Boch Center Wang Theatre, but has been making a habit of crashing smaller comedy stages around the city. He followed up his Valentine’s Day set by dropping by McGreevy’s on Boylston Street, the bar owned by Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey, then last night hit the Burren in Somerville’s Davis Square to perform another impromptu set of laughs.

Louis CK’s show at McGreevy’s was reportedly for around 70 people, and though it’s uncertain how many heads were at the Burren last night when he dropped by, the number is a tiny fraction of the 3,500-person capacity Wang.

Louis CK has two more ticketed gigs in the Theatre District — tonight and tomorrow (February 16 and 17, respectively) — so keep those eyes and ears peeled for just where he might pop up next. May we suggest Cambridge’s ImprovBoston tonight and the Gas at Great Scott in Allston on Friday?
