Pic Six: Here are the finalists for Photo of the Year in the 2016 Boston Music Awards

One of the coolest new elements for this year’s Boston Music Awards is the creation of the Photo of the Year category, a chance to celebrate and honor the incredible photographers who capture our city’s scene and those who pass through it night in and night out. A few weeks ago 12 nominees, submitted by the BMAs nomination committee, were unveiled, and earlier this week, thanks to a public vote, the six finalists have been revealed.

Public voting for the final photos is currently open, and the winner will be revealed, along with those in more than 30 other categories across the musical spectrum, at the December 8 awards ceremony at the House of Blues in Boston.

But wait, there’s more!

All six final images will be auctioned off, with all of the money raised donated equally to Girls Rock Campaign Boston and ZUMIX. The BMAs state in a press release that they are also donating 50 percent of ticket sales generated via the Photo of the Year page to both organizations.
