Back Bae: Kanye West will open a ‘Pablo’ pop-up shop on Boylston Street this weekend

A few weeks ago Kanye West announced a few pop-up screenings around Boston, showing his music video “Famous”. Apparently those went well, because the rapper and fashion designer is back in the pop-up mind this weekend, opening a temporary, three-day “Pablo” store in multiple cities around the world — including Boston.

Our location, in case you want to a) shop there, or b) stay far the fuck away from the area is 899 Boylston St. in the Back Bay. The hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Boston shop looks like it will fill the lot on the corner of Gloucester Street, next to the Trader Joe’s and across the side street from Whiskey’s. Expect a shit show all weekend long.

Here’s a look via Google Maps:

The store name takes its moniker from Kanye’s latest album, The Life Of Pablo.

Vogue reports that the shop will be selling clothing and other merchandise, including tees and hoodies with Boston spelled out in “Cali Thornhill DeWitt’s gothic script in a myriad of bold shades reminiscent of the collection West showed at Madison Square Garden in February.”

CBS provides another look into Kanye’s stock, reporting that a recent New York location was selling a “recycled Levis jacket customized by West” with a price tag of $400.

But before we start feeling special about this Kanye frenzy, we should realize that we’re not alone. Other United States cities that will boast Kanye pop-up shops this weekend include New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago, while London, Berlin, and Singapore provide global destinations.

Whatever doesn’t sell locally can be shipped to North Station, as Kanye brings his “Saint Pablo” tour to TD Garden in Boston on September 3.
