Photo Gallery: Scenes from Belly’s first proper U.S. show in 20 years, last night at Royale

Editor’s Note: Back in February, beloved Boston alt-rock band Belly announced they were reforming after a 20 year absence, returning to the stage for series of shows in here in the States and in the United Kingdom. They also promised new music, and last night at Royale in Boston, made good on everything. Tanya Donelly (singer/guitar), Gail Greenwood (bass), Thomas Gorman (guitar), and Chris Gorman (drums) took the stage in the United States for the first time in two decades (they played a pair of intimate “open rehearsals” in Newport last month), blasting through two sets that included familiar hits and new material. Before they perform a second (and sold out) show at Royale on Friday, check out full gallery of last night’s action from Vanyaland’s Matthew Shelter.
