Feel The Reign: J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. joins Pearl Jam to cover Neil Young at Fenway Park

Pearl Jam wrapped up a pair of sold-out concerts at Fenway Park in Boston last night (Sunday), but not before welcoming a Massachusetts legend up to the stage to rock out. No, we’re not talking about former Red Sox player Kevin Youkilis, who reportedly presented Eddie Vedder with a Sox jersey on stage during the show, but Dinosaur Jr. guitarist and vocalist J Mascis.

Together, Mascis and Pearl Jam busted out perhaps the Seattle band’s most recognizable cover, of Neil Young’s 1989 anthem “Rockin’ In The Free World.”

“Hey Boston will you welcome on the center field stage,” Vedder shouted out, “incredible guitar player Mr. J Mascis.”

This past Friday, Dinosaur Jr. released their latest album, A Glimpse of What Yer Not.
