Rock And Roll Starch: Liam Gallagher won’t stop calling brother Noel a ‘potato’ on Twitter

British rock band Oasis are long gone, but the Gallagher brothers continue to entertain. While Noel Gallagher has found extended life in the spotlight with his High Flying Birds project, Liam has been mainly on the sidelines, especially after the 2014 demise of his post-Oasis band, Beady Eye.

But the duo are never short on insults, and over the weekend, Liam re-ignited his “potato” attack on Noel, tweeting two photos of the guitarist with a simple, all-caps caption. They follow similar “potato” insults that began in May.

It’s certainly not on the level of saying something along the lines of “He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup,” as Noel famously quipped of Liam several years ago, but we appreciate the singer’s allegiance to the joke.

Liam also ruled out an Oasis reunion, in case you were wondering about that sort of thing.
“If I was desperate to get oasis back I wouldn’t be destroying your so called GOD on this ere Twitter no cap in hand,” Liam tweeted on July 1.

Noel, unsurprisingly, is not bothered by it all. “I guess it was about him staying relevant,” says Noel in a recent interview, via the NME. “If you’re him, what else is there to tweet about? How his spring/summer collections are doing for his clothing firm? I’m not sure that warrants a tweet. Should he ever climb out of the ‘where are they now?’ basket and grant you an interview, ask him. I’m sure you’ll get a typically fucking surreal answer.”

Damn.
