Special Kath: Crystal Castles go back to the rave with new track ‘Concrete’

As summer progresses, we’re slowly inching closer to possibly getting a new album from Crystal Castles. The Toronto electronic music project led by Ethan Kath is rumored to be releasing a new album, reportedly titled Amnesty (I), on or around August 19, and earlier this week a new track, a techno-heavy throbber called “Concrete” has surfaced via Korean site MNet.

Listen to it here.

Crystal Castles made headlines over the past several months over the acrimonious departure of singer Alice Glass, who Kath has apparently replaced with the mysterious Edith Frances. “Concrete” is the third track from the new pairing, following singles like “Decide” and “Frail”. Frances joined the group last spring, and this new LP, whenever it arrives, will be Crystal Castles’ first new album since 2012’s iii.

A live version of “Concrete” can be heard below.
