Resurrected: The Stone Roses reach for the anthem on new seven-minute single ‘Beautiful Thing’

A month ago when The Stone Roses released “All For One,” their first single in 20 plus years, it was a concise shot of jangly pop, which, clocking in at about three and a half minutes, was perfect for a 7″ without an edit. But for a band with a history of extended dance floor jams like “Fools Gold” and “Something’s Burning,” it was only a matter of time before they dropped something with a bit of length to it.

Today, along comes the seven minute single “Beautiful Thing,” which gives the Roses room to spread out some. Like its predecessor, the song was recorded at Church Studios in London and was produced by Paul Epworth.
